Pine Creek Race '06

Here's a long over-due post. The Pine Creek down river race in Granite, CO every June. The race is run single runs first for time then heats of four according to the earlier timed runs. Who knows who won, but my oh my was there some beat downs and ass kickings. We pulled out early before the awards to go run the measily Browns Canyon. It was pretty sweet, I met up with two friends from CT and several others for the Browns run.

Here's all of the overflow parking on the road, lots and lots of people, and of course Red Bull brought the whole thing to the rivers edge.
The photos start with the 4 up action/ or should I say the beat downs start shortly and continue.
I'm pretty sure that's one of those 'Redneck Kayakers' from out West. That's a mullet straight from '86.

The beat down to end all beat downs and he didn't even swim out of it.













Here's a shot of the whole course from top to bottom with the 'terminator' hole just out of the picture in the bottom right corner. The river takes a little turn to the left and feeds right into the juice with nice F-me rocks above on the left, center and on the right bank.
